We had the opportunity to do a church web redesign for Hope Chapel Santa Rosa. Hope Chapel is a medium-sized church in Sonoma County just north of San Fransisco.
Before the redesign, they had a dated Squarespace website that was really starting to show its age. The site was mostly text and had very little photography.
One of the goals for Hope Chapel was to better tell the story of the church. They wanted to be sure that when someone visited the site, it felt like a visit on Sunday morning. Their personality as a church needed to come across in the first few seconds on the site.
Removing my fear of uncertainty. That is what REACHRIGHT has done for me. Being totally unfamiliar with website design and maintenance to feeling fully capable. REACHRIGHT has helped me in every way get our church website up and running and provided me with the tools to continue the great work they started. Thank you REACHRIGHT!Gary McKinnon, Youth Director
Church Web Redesign Feature: Video Background
One of the newest trends in church web design is the use of background videos in order to make an impact. The goal is to tell the story of they church in about 15 seconds when someone first gets onto the site. People stop and watch these videos. Hope Chapel did an amazing job producing one that would grab the visitor’s attention.
They took footage from a Sunday at church and it gives users an immediate picture of what to expect.
Church Web Redesign Feature: Welcome Video
In addition to the homepage video, the site includes a welcome video from Pastor Dan Boyd right on the about page. It is short at only about 30 seconds, but they do a great job inviting a first-time visitor to the church.
The goal is that with this video it would help a visitor make a connection with the pastor. Visitors site a connection with the pastor as one of the primary reasons that they choose a church.
