Prestonwood Baptist Church began on February 6, 1977 as a mission of Northway Baptist Church, meeting in a community center for its first two years. Jack Graham accepted the call as pastor in 1989, when the congregation numbered about 8,000, and has led it ever since. Today Prestonwood claims more than 60,000 members and is one of the largest Southern Baptist churches in America, with its main campus on 140 acres in Plano, Texas, where it has met since 1999.
