In 2025, Jakes handed senior leadership to his daughter and son-in-law, Sarah Jakes Roberts and Touré Roberts, who were formally installed as co-senior pastors at the church's 29th anniversary celebration in July 2025. Jakes remains chairman of the board and spiritual overseer. The church has been one of the most influential Black-led congregations in America for nearly three decades.
