About Joseph W. Walker III
Joseph W. Walker III has served as lead pastor of Mount Zion Baptist Church in Nashville, Tennessee since 1992, when he took the pulpit at age 24 with a congregation of 175 members.
Born in Shreveport, Louisiana, Walker holds a Bachelor of Arts from Southern University, a Master of Divinity from Vanderbilt University, and a Doctor of Ministry from Princeton Theological Seminary. Under his leadership Mount Zion has grown to more than 30,000 members across three physical locations plus a virtual campus, and its weekly television broadcast reaches 15 million viewers. In July 2013 he became International Presiding Bishop of the Full Gospel Baptist Church Fellowship, succeeding founding bishop Paul S. Morton Sr. He has written 13 books, including LeaderShifts: Mastering Transitions in Leadership & Life and Reset Your Life: Make a New Start.
