About Matt Chandler
Matt Chandler has served as lead pastor of The Village Church in Flower Mound, Texas since December 2002, when the congregation (then Highland Village First Baptist Church) numbered about 160 people.
Born June 20, 1974, in Seattle, Washington, Chandler has led The Village Church's growth to more than 11,000 attendees across campuses in Flower Mound, Dallas, Plano and Fort Worth. He has written numerous books, including The Explicit Gospel (2012), To Live Is Christ, To Die Is Gain (2013), and Family Discipleship (2020). In March 2012 he was named president of Acts 29, a church-planting network that has grown to more than 400 churches worldwide. He married his wife, Lauren, in 1999, and they have three children.
