About R.R. Soares
R.R. Soares, born Romildo Ribeiro Soares on December 6, 1947, in Muniz Freire, Espírito Santo, founded Igreja Internacional da Graça de Deus (the International Church of God's Grace) in 1980, opening its first congregation in Duque de Caxias, Rio de Janeiro.
He entered ministry in 1968 after reading a book by evangelist T.L. Osborn, and had worked alongside Edir Macedo before the two split over theological differences in 1978. The church Soares founded has since grown to more than 900 congregations across Brazil, with additional churches in Portugal and several U.S. states. Soares has written more than ten books translated into English, including How to Take Possession of the Blessing and Spiritism: The Magic of Illusion. He is also known for an extensive broadcast ministry, hosting the program Show da Fé roughly 100 hours a week on Brazilian television.
