About Sam Oye
Sam Oye is the founder and global lead pastor of The Transforming Church, headquartered in Abuja, Nigeria. He was born on April 13, 1974, in Kaduna State and grew up in Bauchi State, later earning a Bachelor of Science in Geology from the University of Ibadan and a Master of Arts in Leadership from the Redeemed Christian Bible College.
During a 21-day fast in Lagos in 2000, Oye says he received instructions to move to Abuja and start a church. He relocated in 2002 and began meeting in a small classroom in Wuse 2 under the name Harvest House, which grew into The Transforming Church. He also founded the Prophetic Prayer Hour, a daily intercessory gathering he says draws participants from more than 100 nations, and leads the Harvesthouse Mercy Foundation, which provides clean water, healthcare, and education in underserved communities.
