About Estevam Hernandes
Estevam Hernandes is bishop and co-founder of Igreja Apostolica Renascer em Cristo, a Brazilian denomination he planted with his wife, Bishop Sonia Hernandes, in 1986.
Before entering ministry, Hernandes spent 12 years in marketing and sales management at companies including Xerox and Itautec. He converted to Protestant Christianity at age 20 and became a youth leader before founding Renascer. The denomination has since grown to roughly 800 churches across Brazil, Latin America, the United States, Italy, Canada, Japan, and Angola. In 1993, Hernandes brought the Marcha para Jesus event to Brazil, and he founded Fundacao Renascer, which operates a nursing home, shelters for underprivileged children, and a drug rehabilitation center.
